Hi Everyone!
We're trying to track down a mysterious bug where pressing ctrl/cmd-T causes two tabs to open. Similarly, pressing ctrl/cmd-W closes two tabs. This seems to only happen intermittently, and so far it has only been reported by a few people on the mac. This is obviously a serious issue, and I'd like your help tracking it down. If you have had this happen to you, please post a comment with the following information:
* What platform you were on (mac ppc, mac intel, windows, linux)
* What operating system you were running
* The version of Firefox you were running
* Anything else you can remember about what might have caused the bug
Thanks! This is something I'd love to have tracked down before Firefox 2, and this data should help us to figure out what's going on.
Posted by zach at July 21, 2006 8:26 AMI'm wondering if this is related to the occasional missing keystrokes? I haven't been seeing the double-tab opening since downloading yesterday's (and today's) nightlies. Nor have I been missing keystrokes now that I think about it.
Posted by: robcee on July 21, 2006 8:44 AMAlso note that those keyboard shortcuts repeat if you hold them down (at least on Linux they do). Maybe you're just holding them down to long, or the repeat threshold has been changed recently?
Posted by: ispiked on July 21, 2006 9:32 AMI had not noticed that repeatability before. If I hold down Ctrl-T long enough I can get a ton of new tabs. I don't think that should be possible. You should have to release the T key and press it again to get multiple tabs. I'm using windows.
